BCD at ICC Southerns
Team BCD were very excited to attend their first competition of 2018; the ICC Southerns. This yearly visit to the Guilford Spectrum always brings a lot of excitement to so many of us. We could see the excitement building on social media in the weeks and days leading up to the event! The early start meant an early rise and a race to beat the “Ice skaters & Swimmer’s” for a car park space.
The Staff
Upon arrival to the competition we were greeted by the very friendly ICC staff. Our position was to be in the front row where we stayed for most of the weekend. For constant update from competitions, BCD had set up a new Instagram account @BCDUpdates. Give us a follow!
We were very impressed with the standard of teams throughout the weekend and it is beginning to show more and more each year how the quality of UK Cheer is going from strength to strength. The weekend was full of great routines and the great staff from ICC were there for anything you needed, from helping you to give away Mardi Gras Beads, sweets and so much more.
Dawn keeps the crowd entertained between the gaps and we even got a chance to hear her “rap” to Vanilla Ice with his popular hit from the 90’s “Ice Ice baby”. Later on in the day we also got to see here bust a few moves! Whilst Dawn went for the rapping and dance entertainment we knew it wouldn’t be long until Graham (dressed in his suit) couldn’t resist a few jumps and tumbles on the floor in front of the crowd.
Behind the scenes at all the events there is a dedicated team making the event possible. Although she is busy organising staff, Adele (owner of ICC) always has time for a chat with spectators and athletes. Thank you Adele for such a smoothly run event and creating a competitive but fun place for so many people.
